Pandemic showed Manx community comes together in crisis, says Covid Review

The pandemic showed that the Manx community has a remarkable capacity to come together in a crisis.

That's according to the Independent Covid Review, which was Chaired by Kate Brunner KC and published in full today.

The 3,600 page document covers a number of areas, one of which being the public effort during the Covid outbreaks.

The Review says there was wide praise for the willingness of the public to follow restrictions, their desire to do the right thing to protect the vulnerable, and their generosity of spirit in contributing to the overall effort. 

It adds that the Island's response to the pandemic was buoyed by a remarkable effort by many volunteers, including community groups, local authorities and businesses.

The Review states that in general, there was a feeling from the public that that Isle of Man government had done well given the unprecedented nature of the challenge.
