Over 75s who don’t get income support will continue to get free TV licences until the end of 2023.
The government says its due to rising energy bills and increased pressure on household budgets.
A review is currently under way looking at introducing other eligibility criteria when the current arrangement ends on December 31 this year.
Any further changes will now come into effect from January 1 2024.
