Douglas Council says it's spent over £462,000 installing energy efficient boilers in public housing over the past year.
That's according to a response to a Freedom of Information request.
It says it's important to replace boilers when they reach end of life, but this doesn't take priority over other maintenance.
The local authority adds the eco boilers are also more economical to run, which benefits council tenants.
