The scheme took place in the summer holidays last year, and invited charities and community groups to apply for funding to provide activities and healthy meals for children eligible for free school meals.
According to Education Minister Julie Edge, over £55,000 in funding was issued via the soft drinks levy - but the programme will not take place again this year.
She adds that the department are 'not in a position to continue this scheme or any other scheme without further funding being allocated.'
