Winter Vomiting Bug Arrives
An outbreak of viral Gastroenteritis on the Isle of Man has been reported.
Several cases of a viral disease causing vomiting and diarrhoea have been confirmed with the most likely cause to be Norovirus.
Anyone who is showing the symptoms is urged to stear well clear of A&E and only to contact their GP or MEDs by the telephone.
If affected the person should ensure they are regularly drinking fluids to keep well hydrated.
As it's highly contagious you’re advised to avoid contact with other people if possible, you should also remain isolated for upto 48 hours after the symptoms have stopped.
High levels of hygiene are strongly advised in order to stop other members of the household from picking up the virus.
