An onshore windfarm on the Island could cost around £40m.
That's according to a report from Manx Utilities, which has put forward proposals for turbines at either Earystane & Scards or Sulby & Druidale.
The cheapest option would be to install five turbines down south, which would also deliver a lower cost to customers.
Having the site in Sulby & Druidale would cost an £10m extra as additional turbines would be needed due to the area having less wind.
Manx Utilities hopes to have the windfarm completed by 2026.
