Adventurer and Four Legged Friend Expected to Embark as Soon as Conditions Are Right
An England based adventurer will be Kayaking from Whitehaven to the Isle of Man sometime in the next week, with weather conditions key to the success of the crossing.
He'll be making the 35 mile journey with his faithful companion Charlie, his pet Labrador.
Martin Whitmill initially was hoping to make the crossing last weekend, but choppy seas prevented it.
He has a support team who, on a daily basis make the call of whether the seas are calm enough for the crossing to happen.
Martin has been in solid training since January building up his strength and stamina which will be crucial when battling against the strong currents.
No stranger to difficult tasks he once kayaked out of London to the coast and then onto Norwich.
He'll be raising money for charity along the way with the money going to Wateraid, and four churches around his area of Cleator Moor in Cumbria.
