Onchan Commissioners have confirmed their residents will experience a rate increase, with this likely to become the norm for the foreseeable future.
The district rate for 2014/15 is to be set at 290p in the pound representing an increase over last year of 5.45 per cent.
This equates to an additional 15 pence in the pound, roughly an extra £23 per year.
The Commissioners are citing the removal of the government subsidy on waste disposal charges as the main contributing factor to the rise.
Looking ahead the waste disposal charge increase will represent an additional 4.5 per cent jump per annum over the next four years.
