Police say they'll continue targeting people involved in drugs and UK crime gangs after an Onchan man was jailed for more than 20 years.
Leroy McHarrie was sentenced to 21 years and nine months this week after being convicted of charges relating to cocaine and cannabis being smuggled to the Island.
In June 2022, police found drugs worth around £200,000 in a BMW at the Sea Terminal and traced the shipment back to Liverpool gangster James Spotwood and two other Merseyside men.
McHarrie was also convicted over money-laundering and two other plots to post cocaine to the Island, while a number of other people have been jailed for their parts in the smuggling and money-laundering operations.
Detective Inspector Jamie Tomlinson says those involved in drug gangs can expect significant custodial sentences
