Onchan commissioners say they need more details about plans to wear body-worn cameras at the Eastern Civic Amenity Site.
At the local authority's last meeting, members were asked to approve spending £472 to pay their share of costs for the project.
However, they deferred a decision on spending the money on the equipment, which would be worn by site workers.
They asked for a copy of a data protection impact assessment to find out who collects the personal data, where it'll be stored and for how long.
