The Department of Social Care presented its housing review recommendations report last night to the Island’s commissioners.
Throughout the consultation process Onchan Commissioners have voiced major concerns about the setting up of regional housing bodies. They also voiced their disdain that Douglas Corporation won’t be placed into a regional housing authority, either on its own or with other local authorities.
The Commissioners will meet on Monday to plan their response to the report.
Chief executive of Onchan Commissioners Malcolm Hulme says the issue is one of the most serious he’s faced throughout his tenure:
Buchan School could become 85 homes under new plans
Flood defence plans scrapped after five planning objections
TT food van needed for trackside car park
Northern roadworks to hinge on Mountain Road reopening
Beer festival to return this week
Dublin to sign friendship agreement with Douglas in summer
Total of 35 properties on council's dilapidated list
