Onchan commissioners have put up the price of renting their garages by 25 per cent.
Minutes from December's board meeting shows the local authority has 138 garages throughout the district.
Last year, the board raised the price of renting them to £24 per week.
But after hearing the private sector charges much higher rents, the board unanimously voted to increase the rent to £30 per week.
