The Islands Office of Fair Trading says in rare cases a door lock defect could be affecting Hotpoint and Indesit models which were manufactured between October 2014 and Feburary 2018.
Officials say if you believe you may have one to stop using it, check the serial number inside the door on the back of the machine and then check that at www.washingmachinerecall.whirlpool.co.uk.
Alternatively, you can contact the OFT directly or the Whirlpool free helpine on 0800 316 1442.
