The Office of Fair Trading has warned consumers and businesses to be very wary if they receive calls out of the blue from people claiming to represent IT suppliers.
They will call warning that your computer has a virus, and for a fee they can remove it.
In some instances the scammers, who claim to be calling from Windows managed to dupe the individuals out of money.
Anyone who receives a call like this should not give their payment details, take the callers details and contact the OFT immediately.
