Price Hikes Down to Uncontrollable Factors
The Office of Fair Trading have revealed the results from the investigation into the price charged for liquid fuel on the Island.
The main findings of the report threw up no
surprises, with
the cost of bringing in the fuel to the Island the main factor for the
significant price hikes.
Chairman of the OFT Bill Henderson stressed that the report was in no way an attempt to stick up for the fuel providers, it was conducted first and foremost to find out if the consumer was being unfairly treated.
He also said following the thorough investigation he can confirm that despite the expensive cost of fuel on the Island it would appear nobody is greatly profiteering:
