Official launch of 'River Buddies' today needs volunteers

Can you spare some time this afternoon to help clean-up rivers in Laxey?

Beach Buddies IOM are meeting this afternoon at 2pm at the Laxey Washing Floors and are asking anyone available to help with their new project: 'River Buddies.'

The charity said following discussions with the Manx Wildlife Trust and Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture, they agreed on a new initiative to 'clean up the Island’s rivers from significant amounts of rubbish which has gathered over many years.'

It's the official launch today and free drinks are on offer after the clean-up from the Mines Tavern.
