Odds Stacked Against Cav To Take Sports Personality Award

Mark Cavendish will find out tonight if he’s to be crowned the UK’s sports personality of the year.

He came close last year finishing fourth, this year the odds are slightly stacked against him with the bookies offering 66/1 odds.

After a shaky start to his season Cav stormed back to take five stages of the Tour de France, he also won the points jersey at the Tour of Spain.

Notably, he is the second Briton to score a sprint title in one of the world’s top three stage races.

We will have to wait till tonight to see how the Manxman fares with the show broadcast on BBC1 at 7pm.
