A report insinuating that just under 1500 people on Island sit on the autism spectrum has been met with derision from a number of people.
The numbers come from the autism strategy for the next ten years, the estimated total is based on UK figures.
Taking to our facebook page a number of people said this was highly misleading, and there are surely thousands more people locally with Autism Spectrum Condition.
It was alleged in the comments that the Island is currently failing young people with autism, with huge waiting times to receive diagnosis and the only alternative to seek costly private consultations.
