The Cabinet Office says it doesn't know how many government credit cards there are, but says the Treasury might.
A Freedom of Information request asked how many cards had been given to civil servants and how much money had been spent on them each year since 2019.
In its response, the Cabinet Office said it didn't hold the data.
However, it suggested the person behind the query asked the Treasury for the information.
