Hundreds of children will join Sir Mark Cavendish today as the National Sports Centre cycle track is renamed in his honour.
Cav will return to the NSC track today as he completes a timed lap of the circuit, before school students and members of his former cycling club join him for a ride out.
A parade will be held at 10am before the event gets underway from 10.15am.
Police are asking motorists to drive carefully in the vicinity as the event takes place as heavy traffic is expected and hundreds of children on bikes will be in the area.
