Nostalgic items for older mental health patients needed

Do you have any old photos, newspapers or cameras you no longer need?

Manx Care is asking for donations for its Acute Mental Health Service to support activities and therapies within its Glen Suite.

Older adults with conditions such as dementia and depression are in need of materials to reminisce, as nostalgic activities are believed to reduce stress and anxiety as well as improve physical health and daily functioning.

The following items are all being accepted between July 1 and 31:

• old local pictures
• old magazines/newspapers
• old school items e.g. rulers etc.
• old cameras/telephones
• vintage household items (not electrical)
• any Manx items

Donations can be dropped-off at Manannan Court reception on the Noble's Hospital site.
