There’s been a temporary closure of Ward 8 due to a Noro Virus outbreak.
The outbreak has only affected a small number of patients; as a consequence Ward 8 has been closed to new admissions.
Visiting restrictions have been put in place for both the public’s protection and that of the vulnerable patients.
If you have the symptoms of the virus you’re urged to steer well clear of the hospital, contacting your GP only by telephone.
Anyone who has suffered from it is urged to remain at home for 48 hours after cessation of all symptoms, as this is the commonest way for the outbreaks to start.
