Amongst other things, Peter Duffy helped to staff the island's COVID help desk.
Mr Duffy picked up his award 2 weeks ago- the first opportunity he's had to travel to the UK.
He received the award from Prince William at Buckingham Palace.
Mr Duffy, who is a urology surgeon at Noble's Hospital in Braddan, said: "I don't think I did much more than any other hospital staff on the island.
"Many, many people put themselves out and everyone moved outside their comfort zone during the pandemic.
"I am a urology surgeon and of course, operations were suspended so I had plenty of time on my hands.
"I offered my services wherever they were needed.
"My family were all in Lancaster so if I hadn’t worked, I'd have been sitting in a flat on my own.
"Instead, I got to be part of things and there was a great team spirit at the hospital".
Mr Duffy helped to set up the COVID help desk and also spent time nursing on wards 2, 8, 20 and ICU.
The latter came under extreme pressure in Spring 2020 as the hospital dealt with growing numbers of Covid patients.
Peter Duffy has been working at Noble's Hospital for 5 years.
