The bed capacity of Noble's Hospital has never been exceeded.
Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford, made the comment in written response to a question in Tywnald yesterday.
Mr Ashford went on to say that there is no capacity limit on the accident and emergency unit at the hospital - adding 100 or more attendances there in a day is considered higher than expected.
In his report - which covers 1,344 days - 18 per cent of them were above that level.
It came in response to queries from Onchan MHK Rob Callister, who'd asked how many times Noble's and it's A&E department have been over capacity in the last three years.
