The government says a misunderstanding led to an announcement someone who’d received the coronavirus vaccine had died.
In this evening’s press briefing, Mr Quayle said the person who’d had a reaction to the Covid vaccine didn’t die, contradicting statements issued earlier.
He said the person involved had died from an unrelated underlying medical issue and hadn’t had the jab.
Mr Quayle apologised for the error.
