No referendum on same-sex marriage says Chief

Same-sex marriage legislation should not be decided by a referendum.

That's the opinion of the Chief Minister - yesterday he was quizzed on the issue in Tynwald.
 
Allan Bell did not commit to a time frame for any definitive change in law but did confirm there would be no referendum during his tenure.
 
He says although the public would be consulted on any change it is ultimately a decision for elected representatives:
