The Health Minister has confirmed there will be no increase in prescription charges before the upcoming election.
The pledge follows a question from Rushen MHK Juan Watterson about the Department of Health and Social Care’s 2026 plan.
Minister Claire Christian said any developments in this area will be carefully considered, with a focus on maintaining affordability for prescriptions, eyesight tests and dental services.
Proposals for these changes are expected to be presented to the Council later this month, with the aim of creating a fairer system.
