Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says publishing a list of upcoming roadworks would be pointless - because the department's plans are too changeable.
In a question for written reply from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse he was asked to publish the road patching team's work plan for the next three months.
He said the list of patching work constantly changed because of weather, crashes, emergencies, staff availability, and other work.
And he added the plan would quickly become outdated, potentially misleading people.
