We’re still waiting to find out if bus drivers will stage another walkout next week.
There’s a possibility bus drivers will strike again next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday if the row over their pay, terms and conditions hasn’t been settled. No official announcement has been made yet as it’s hoped the matter can be resolved before then.
However the Department of Education and Children already has warned schools to brace themselves for more possible disruption to the buses in the first week of the new term.
The contingency plans in place to get youngsters to and from school will be the same as for the December strike, when some pupils had to use the steam trains and electric trams.
