Chief Minister Alf Canann says work's already underway to ensure Manx Care stays within its budget.
This week he faced questions about the possibility of a forensic audit of the organisation by Onchan MHK Julie Edge.
In the House of Keys, he said the government was trying to prevent overspending in the health service.
But he said there was no justification for such an audit:
