It's been revealed that a twice daily placing of 'No Entry' signs to a street in Peel have been costing the Government over £6,000.
Michael Street is pedestrian only at certain times of the day but paying for the daily ‘No Entry’ sign at the entrance to Michael Street has been scrapped.
It's believed that the fixed signs in place already give people enough notice not to drive down the road.
However, in a recent meeting of Peel Comissioners, the installation of automatic barriers was brought up. They are currently being installed in Castletown costing the Government thousands of pounds.
Their effectiveness and potential for assisting enforcement in other areas of the Island will be monitored.
