Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston says his department doesn't hold figures about people paying for broadband installation.
He faced a question for written reply from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse about how many social housing tenants have to pay for fibre broadband.
Mr Johnston said his department doesn't track those figures or help people with the cost.
But he said a report from the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority in the near future will consider social tariffs for broadband.
