No promises are being made by the Treasury when it comes to changes to income tax thresholds.
In the House of Keys this week Onchan MHK Julie Edge asked Treasury Minister Alex Allinson how government income would be impacted by raising them.
Dr Allinson explained revenue would decrease between £2.5 and £3 million for every £250 increase in the personal allowance.
