Onchan Commissioners says it's aware of a social media post alleging one of its board members was involved in an incident at its public meeting last night.
The local authority adds as it involves a named individual, it wouldn't be appropriate to comment or speculate about the assault allegations.
It also says any complaint received would be considered and dealt with in accordance with the authority's procedures and governance protocols.
The social media post claims the board's chair has asked the clerk to investigate.
