No changes to pension scheme until 2016

It’s been confirmed today that there will be no changes to the Manx Pension Supplement Scheme until 2016 at the earliest.

A report from the same team looking at the Scope of Government included a proposal to phase out or limit recipients for the Manx Pension Supplement.

It’s believed this detail led to some anxiety among existing pensioners.

Tynwald recently approved an increase in the state pension age to 66 for both men and women, coming into effect from 2020.

The Department of Social Care currently pays state pension to 18,400 people, with the annual cost of this £34 million.
