Chief Minister Alf Cannan says plans for a Covid memorial garden have been paused because the government doesn't have the money to build it.
The Department of Infrastructure was due to build it at Coill Y Ree gardens in St John's and estimated the garden commemorating those who lost their lives during the pandemic would cost £150,000.
In Tynwald this week, Mr Cannan said those costs would likely have risen significantly since the initial work was done and the DOI didn't have the cash to create it.
And he added government priorities lie elsewhere:
Repairs on Peel Power Station to get underway
Manx Care doctor survey to be discussed by Tynwald
Weather warning for snow tonight
MHK queries safety at primary school in Ballabeg
Gales put two ferry sailings at risk tonight
Should the Island throw a birthday party for Barry Gibb?
Warning issued over icy roads
High ground could see 4 inches of snow on Saturday night
