The government doesn't reveal the details of benefits fraudsters to the media before they're prosecuted, according to Treasury Minister Alf Cannan.
This week in Tynwald, he was asked a question for written answer from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.
He wanted to know why the names and addresses of alleged social security fraudsters are given to the media - and whether procedures would change so they can only be identified once found guilty.
However, Mr Cannan said information becomes public domain during court proceedings, when the media can decide what they report.
