No appeal lodged on Langness Rights of Way ruling

It has been confirmed that no appeal has been lodged following the ruling on the Rights of Way at Langness.

Towards the end of April Deemster Doyle handed down his judgement that the Department of Infrastructure should amend the Maps to include the footpaths suggested in the Inspector’s report.

Following this decision, the 6 week period within which an appeal was allowed elapsed on 7th June 2012, and no appeal was lodged.

The issue has been on-going for some years, with landowner Jeremy Clarkson feeling the existing footpaths led to a breach of his family’s privacy; this was fiercely contested by campaign group PROWL.

All paths are now open, with the exception of a short section, which is currently awaiting repairs.
