Culture Vannin has awarded this year's RBV cultural award to Nigel Crowe.
Mr Crowe received the award for work in genealogy, land records and historical landscape.
Assessors said without his work, 'our understanding of the Isle of Man would be all the poorer.'
Mr Crowe has also been involved with the Isle of Man Family History Society and the Isle of Man Natural History and Antiquarian Society, and has participated in the Manx Music Festival.
The RBV award is the Island's highest cultural honour, and is decided by a panel of representatives.
