Birds have quickly moved back into Mooragh Lake in Ramsey following its draining.
The town's commissioners and Manx Wildlife Trust have been carrying out a project to see whether letting the water level change with the seasons can help wildlife.
The nature charity says lower levels have created shallow water and muddy areas, proving attractive feeding grounds for birds.
Several species, including red-listed Oystercatchers and Redshank, have already been spotted using the lake.
