A new steer-group has been set up to assist the Department of Tourism on future polices as the government bids to strengthen the industry.
Geoff Corkish has praised the formation of a new committee that he believes will boost the tourism industry in the Island.
Speaking to 3FM, the Douglas West MHK welcomed the new think-tank, which will consist of members from both the public and private sector.
It will assist with the development of policies for the Department and, according to Mr Corkish, has been long overdue.
He said that tourism is a major part of what the Isle of Man ‘is, was and will continue to be’ and highlighted that the industry affected many other departments and areas.
