Samaritans Isle of Man has announced its new director - Gill Porter.
Gill has been volunteering with the charity for three years - serving on many teams and events as well as acting as deputy for Volunteer Support.
The Isle of Man team has 55 'listeners' and more in training at the moment - it offers confidential support to anyone who calls - 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Gill, who is taking over from Tracey Fuller, says she wants to highlight the work the volunteers do as well as raising the charity's profile.
