New regeneration project to be piloted around Island

"Shabbier" parts of the Island could be improved thanks to a new regeneration committee scheme which could act as a catalyst.

It will see national and local politicians working in cohesion with the private sector to oversee changes to infrastructure in support of the economy.

The project is being piloted in Castletown, Laxey, Peel, Port Erin, Port St Mary and Ramsey.

Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly, says it promises to make the process much more efficient:
