A public footpath closed for several years in the South has now reopened.
Grenaby's Public Right of Way route 423 in Malew was previously closed due to significant damage to the riverbank due to large trees falling down, making the route impassable.
An alternative footpath is now between Grenaby Road and the Silverburn River, with new boardwalks, stiles, gates, and steps now in place.
Walkers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new route and avoid crossing areas without a right of way.
