Tynwald's backed new reforms which government says will simplify the planning system.
They'll come into force as part of the Town and Country Planning Act 2025.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says it'll make it easier to update the historic buildings register, and streamline the appeals process.
There's also guidance for what requires planning approval, meaning small jobs like painting, removing sheds or building driveways won't need it.
