Sure Isle of Man has applied for permission to replace the metal tower which houses its mobile phone equipment.
The company says it wants to redevelop the site with updated equipment and would take down the existing 50-metre mast and replace it with one just 40 metres high.
It says the site, on the top of the Emergency Services Joint Control Room, is ideal for phone coverage because of its elevation.
