The Isle of Man is to hold the solution to the Brexit process, according to a report by the Brexit Secretary in Westminster obtained by 3FM.
The DUP has backed plans to create a customs barrier in the Irish sea cutting through the middle of the Island in a move - according to a treasury spokesperson - estimated to be worth £20-billion a year to the Manx economy.
As a result, Tynwald is tabling plans to help Manx ports cope with the huge increase in shipping traffic and is supporting £100-million of spending for new sea facilities in Douglas and Peel.
DUP minister, Ronan O'Conor, added the Island 'provides the perfect solution to the backstop issue'.
