A 'new look' has been confirmed for this year's Manx Grand Prix by the organisers.
The Manx Motor Cycle Club and Department for Enterprise have confirmed plans to reduce the annual event from 14 days to nine.
It comes after a review of the event, designed to "ensure the long-term sustainability of the motorcycle races".
The review included:
- An analysis of the delivery costs and the benefits to the local economy
- The impact of road closures on residents and businesses
- A safety risk management
- The provision of sufficient marshall cover for the full event duration
- Fan, media and industry relevance.
A new five-race programme is planned, featuring a range of classes for modern and classic machinery all held under the MGP title.
The event is due to take place between Sunday 21st August and Monday 29th August (August Bank Holiday).
