Current 16 year olds could be the last generation to legally smoke on the Island if MHKs back new laws.
When the House of Keys sits on Tuesday, Rushen MHK Dr Michelle Haywood will ask them to back a private member's bill.
Her law would stop tobacco or nicotine products being sold to anyone born after January 1, 2008.
She'll ask for leave to amend the Island's Children and Young Person's Act 1966 and Public Health Tobacco Act 2006.
