Creating a new ICT hub at The Nunnery will enable education bosses to increase the amount of degree choices on offer to Island students.
That's the message from University College Isle of Man which says it's been 'blown away' by the level of support for the new venture.
Last week the UCM and International Centre for Technology held an open day for potential students - local businesses who are involved in the industry also attended.
Speaking at the event higher education manager Gail Corrin said there was a 'collective energy' at the new hub:
